Mila Zhang

Composer / Songwriter

Mila is a composer, orchestrator, arranger, music producer, and singer-songwriter, actively working between New York and Beijing. Her music is known for being introspective, mesmerizing, and eclectic.

She has served as the lead composer for over 20 projects across film, video games, documentaries, animation, and installation art.

Mila specialises in creating delicate, profound, dreamy, innocent and ambient music. Drawing inspiration from nature and the subtle, sincere emotions of humanity, she instinctively transforms delicate feelings and visual nuances into vivid, cinematic music.

She has collaborated with institutions including NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Apple (China), National Centre for the Performing Arts (Image Theatre), Central Conservatory of Music, Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy, Shanghai Theatre Academy, China Conservatory of Music, Tianjin Conservatory of Music, and Shanghai University. Her works have been performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and the NYU Orchestra.

Graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music ranked first place in her major, Mila is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Screen Scoring at New York University. She has received multiple prestigious scholarships throughout her studies: MPAP Departmental Scholarship, Film Scoring Scholarship, NYU / ASCAP Foundation Scholarship, and SOREL Film Scholarship.
